Osteoporosis or “porous bones” comes from the Latin word for bone disease. It may occur in adult or at any age. It is a condition of fragile bone with a high risk of fracture. The most affected part of bones is the ribs, hips and the bones in the wrists and spine.

Osteoporosis causes the bones to get weak and increases the risk of bone breaking. It can occur while you are walking, standing, bending over and even coughing. People who experience this disease are those who lack exercise, calcium and vitamin D.
