Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive brain disorder. It destroys the brain causing memory loss and impaired mental functions. It the most common form of dementia. It’s either sporadic affecting adults at any age or familial, caused by a mutation in one of the several genes.

In Alzheimer’s disease, the brains cells degenerate and die. It affects the part of the brain that controls thoughts, language and memory. Over time, the symptoms get worse. They may not be able to recognize family members. They may have trouble writing, speaking and reading. They may even forget how to comb their hair or brush their teeth.
